ACSV Awards – Terms and Conditions

General

  • The ACSV Awards are organised by the Australian Council for Student Voice (ACSV) to recognise excellence in student voice, agency, and partnerships.

  • By submitting a nomination, nominators confirm that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions.

  • ACSV reserves the right to amend these terms at any time.

Eligibility

  • The Student Voice Impact Award is open to registered primary and secondary schools in Australia that demonstrate outstanding commitment to student voice, agency, and leadership.

  • The Partnership for Change Award is open to partnerships involving students and educators, policymakers, researchers, or community organisations that demonstrate co-leadership and shared decision-making.

  • Nominations must focus on initiatives commenced, undertaken, or completed within the last calendar year.

  • Nominations must have the consent of all key participants before submission.

  • All submissions must be original work and must not infringe upon any third-party copyrights.

  • By submitting, nominees confirm that they have obtained permission from all individuals featured in submitted materials.

Nomination Process

  • Nominations must be submitted via the official online nomination form before the stated deadline.

  • Each nomination must include:

    • A video up to 1-minute in length explaining the initiative and its impact.

    • A written description (max. 500 words) outlining how the initiative meets the award criteria.

  • Late or incomplete nominations will not be considered.

Judging and Selection

  • ACSV will convene a panel of experts in student voice and partnerships to review nominations based on the published criteria.

  • ACSV members will have the opportunity to vote on shortlisted nominations, with final winners determined by a combination of public voting and expert panel assessment.

  • The judging panel’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.

Award Recognition

  • Finalists will be notified prior to SVC 2025, and winners will be announced at the event.

  • Nominees may be featured on ACSV’s website, social media, and promotional materials.

Use of Submitted Materials

  • By submitting a nomination, you grant ACSV permission to use supplied photos, videos, and audio for:

    • Educational materials (e.g., reports, lesson plans, presentations).

    • ACSV’s website and social media.

    • Promotional materials (e.g., flyers, brochures, posters).

    • Media releases and public communications.

  • If any content includes identifiable individuals, the nominator must ensure they have received permission from those individuals (or their legal guardians, if under 18).

  • Personal information collected through the nomination process will be handled in accordance with ACSV’s Privacy Policy and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

Disclaimer & Liability

  • By submitting a nomination, participants agree that ACSV is not responsible for any loss, damage, or liability arising from participation in the awards.

  • ACSV is not liable for technical issues affecting submission quality. It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure their nomination meets all technical requirements.

  • In the event of any discrepancy between published information and these Terms & Conditions, the ACSV reserves the right to review the matter and make a final determination. All decisions made by ACSV in such instances are final and not subject to appeal.

Disqualification and Withdrawal

ACSV reserves the right to disqualify any nomination that:

  • Provides false or misleading information.

  • Does not meet the eligibility criteria.

  • Violates ACSV values, or ethical or legal standards.

Nominators may withdraw their submission at any time by contacting awards@studentvoice.org.au.
