Expression of Interest for naspac
naspac is the National Student Participatory Action Conference, a series of conferences that took place between 1970 and 2000. You can read more about the previous conferences in Connect: https://research.acer.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1180&context=connect
The Australian Council for Student Voice was born out of SVCMelbourne, a conference with similar aims to naspac. Since our beginning, we’ve received guidance from the participants and organisers of the naspac conferences. We’ve committed to continuing this tradition, and are looking to put on our first major biennial in 2025.
We’re seeking expressions of interest to attend, present, organise, support, and sponsor the event in 2025.
This would be an in-person conference held in an Australian capital city, with possible live-stream options available for attendees. It would take place over 3 days in late Jan or early Feb 2024, being considerate of school term dates. The conference would not exceed $300 for in-person attendance at all three days, with reduced costs for presenters, early bird tickets, virtual, and daily entry options.
The ACSV is also seeking EOIs from potential keynote speakers and presenters who would engage around the ideas of ‘student voice, agency, and participation within schools and communities’. We’re on the lookout for a mix of theoretical and practical pieces, with an emphasis on value for attendees.
If you’re interested in playing a role in naspac 2025 (presenting, organising, or sponsoring), you can submit your details in the below form or reach out to the ACSV National Office: hello@studentvoice.org.au.
